Opening its doors to the public on November 18, 1931, the historic Embassy Theatre has become Cumberland’s premier venue for the performing arts and culture.
The Embassy Theatre is the premiere entertainment venue on the downtown Cumberland mall.
"The play's sharp wit and distinctive perspective evoke comparisons to the films of Del Shores. Riggs, who wrote, directed, and acted in "The Marie Defense," much like Shores, possesses a remarkable talent for crafting characters and scenarios that are simultaneously unconventional, dark, triggering and deeply relatable. This production unequivocally demonstrates his skill in blending disparate elements—the dark, the comedic, and the unexpectedly twists—into a cohesive and highly entertaining narrative." - J Steven Smiley
Only 4 more chances to see Never Say Goodbye & The Marie Defense at Embassy Theatre! Tomorrow, Sunday June 15 and then Friday June 20 and Saturday June 21 at 8PM and closing on June 22 at 2PM.

"The play is, in essence, a 2-person dance, and it is a credit to Riggs’ skill as a writer that it avoids the saccharine without resorting to cheap snark or manufactured grievance to create dramatic yeast. The plot is simple: can Carole convince Lucy to pursue the TV success the rest of us know is her inevitable future?" - Ellen McDaniel-Weissler, Allegany Magazine
Join us to watch this story unfold tonight at 8PM, tomorrow at 2PM, or next weekend! The show is preceded by The Marie Defense, a play that "immerses the audience in a world where dark humor converges with a surprising affection for Marie Osmond." (Credit J Steven Smiley).
