There's an Irish toast that goes "May you be in heaven half an hour before the Devil knows you're dead" — Or, in this case, before your classmates and dance chaperones notice your corpse! We invite you to join us at the Allegany Museum at 3 Pershing St. in Cumberland for a night of intrigue, laughter, and lively tunes as we uncover who slew Peggy Sue.
The Allegany Museum and Embassy Theatre are teaming up for their 2nd Annual Murder at the Museum event, a thrilling and fun-filled evening of mystery, music, and nostalgia. This year’s show takes place April 3, 4, and 5 at 7:00 and transports attendees back to the 1950s with the original production Rock and Roll to Murder, written and directed by Tom Valentine.
As the Allegany Museum Ballroom is transformed into a high school dance scene, Rock and Roll to Murder will take guests on a nostalgic journey to Hicksville High, where Peggy Sue and her friends are gearing up to rock around the clock. Our Killer Cast for this event is as follows: Wallflowers in waiting are Skylar Lane as Peggy Sue, Rebecca Bensavage as Frenchy, and Emily Snyder as Mary Lou. Keeping a sharp eye out for hanky-panky is Dani Whitlock as Mom. Checking out the circle skirts are Al Hall as Greg the Greaser and Taber Robinette as Dimwit Donnie. Lights and Sound are managed by Sawyer Jenkins and Tech Coordinator is Tyler Gilks.
Drinks will be available at a cash bar, and light refreshments will be set at each table. Attendees will be invited to guess the murderer by ballot at the end of the performance. Prizes for the winners include a Whiskey Rebellion ticket or a Triple Play theatrical event pass from the Embassy Theatre.
Tickets are $40 per person and are available through the Facebook pages of both Allegany Museum and Embassy Theatre. For more information, call the Allegany Museum at 301-777-7200. Last year's shows sold out, so get your tickets soon!
