Dear Patron of the Arts:
Much has happened at the Embassy Theatre in beautiful downtown Cumberland in the past year. We’d like to share our accomplishments with you, as well as our hopes for 2019.
This past year was a time of changes. We lost our beloved Mark Baker, a Tony Award nominee, trusted friend, awesome performer, and dedicated supporter of our efforts.
He will be long remembered, and his legacy will continue to entertain all. We also honor his initiative twenty years ago to undertake the renovation of the Embassy as an arts venue, and pledge to continue that mission.
Our efforts did not go unnoticed this season. We are the busiest entertainment venue in the Tri-State Area. We hosted 57 separate events, with over 4,000 folks in attendance. For the amount of committed hard work that we do, we receive very little in the way of grants from government funding. Doing what we do, is made possible by your ongoing support. Please, consider donating. We are the last standing Art Deco cinema building still operating in the city of Cumberland, and one of only a few that have not been demolished nationwide.
We need your help. Any donation is appreciated, no matter how small! May we count on your generous support of the Embassy Theatre? Are YOU ready to make a difference in the city of Cumberland, MD? We look forward to hearing from you soon. Together, we can preserve this beautiful relic of the past for posterity. Make this your Embassy Theatre, where stars shine!
