The Embassy Theatre in beautiful downtown Cumberland is proud to announce our upcoming season of theatrical offerings.
Leading off 2025 on the Embassy stage will be "Little Women," the classic coming-of-age tale of four sisters by Louisa May Alcott, adapted by Kay Hamill. Directed by Al Hall, the show runs May 9th through the 18th. Auditions are scheduled Saturday, February 8th, and more details may be found at tinyurl.com/7dratvam.
Coming up June 13th - 22nd will be two one acts, “The Marie Defense” and “Never Say Goodbye,” written and directed by local author Shane Riggs. The second play, subtitled “An Evening with Lombard and Lucy,” will be receiving its world premier.
The musical "Godspell," by Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael Tebelak, opens July 18th and runs till July 27th. Structured as a series of parables based on the Gospel of Matthew, the show will be directed by Hayden Davis.
An original play that affirms the power of musical therapy in overcoming adversity, "Instruments Of Healing," directed by Mark Ashby. plays September 12th-21st. Written by Andy Goldenson, this show features original music by the author, who will also serve as music director.
Running October 17th-26th will be "Bonnie and Clyde," by Frank Wildhorn, Don Black, and Ivan Menchell. This musical retelling of the famous young outlaws’ exploits is directed by Sawyer Jenkins, with musical direction by Jaiden Courrier.
"Butterflies Are Free," by Leonard Gershe, opens November 14th and plays through November 23rd. This story of a blind man whose mother disapproves of his free-spirited girlfriend is directed by Katlynn Lahman.
